
Kickstart Your Coding Career
Being able to code is such a valuable skill to have, no matter what your field of study is. Tech touches every industry, from building websites, to understanding data, to developing technology that helps solve real-world problems like climate change and disease prevention.
The University of Westminster and the Careers and Employability Service in partnership with Code First Girls will be offering a series of free 8-week online courses in Web Development and Python & Apps.
These are free courses designed to fit around your full-time studies where you'll combine content, action and community to learn the skills you need to break into the technology industry.
Please note: those wishing to take part must identify as a woman or non-binary.
To be eligible for the university partnered courses you MUST apply using your university/college email address. If you use your personal email address, it is likely you will not be able to register for the course.
The Courses
Introduction to Web Development
An introduction to web development for budding coders, and those who need somewhere to get started! Learn the fundamental skills of front-end web dev, including three dedicated sessions on JavaScript. By the end of the course, you will be able to build a website from scratch!
Python & Apps
A beginner-friendly course to help students learn the fundamentals of programming through problem-solving in Python. Build and deploy your first web application with us using this high level programming language! You’ll be well equipped to start work on apps and back-end coding at the course end.
