Clothes Swap and Fabric Wreath Making Workshop

Date 3 December 2024
Time 12 - 3pm
Location Harrow Campus
Cost Free

Join us at Harrow Campus this December to participate in our clothes swap and fabric Christmas wreath-making workshop.

Christmas is a time of year for giving and receiving and is an excellent time to reflect on our consumption patterns and reuse what we already have. The Fashion School's Conscious Fashion Space, Sustainability Team, and the UWSU Fashion Society have come together to arrange a Clothes Swap and fabric Christmas wreath-making workshop at Harrow.

Please bring your preloved clean clothes to both events!

Clothes Swap

The Clothes Swap will be hosted by CloSwap, an organisation that facilitates garment swapping. Please bring in any unwanted clean clothes and swap them for other clothes in our collections or brought in by other students. Space will be available to try on clothes before you take them home. No purchases are needed; just swap an item for another item! This event will be held in the Forum and will be a drop-in session, but please book a place so we can get an idea of numbers!

When? Tuesday 3rd December 2024, 12:00-15:00

Where? The Forum, Harrow Campus

Fabric wreath-making workshop

The Wreath-making Workshop will be hosted by The Seam, who aim to keep clothing and fabrics away from waste streams by repurposing them. Please bring any clean clothing or fabrics that cannot be donated for this session. We will use these fabrics to create Christmas wreaths, which you can take home after finishing. The workshop will take place in the Conscious Fashion Space, a creative hub for students and colleagues to use for sustainable fashion initiatives. Spaces are limited for this workshop, so book your place using the link below.

Sustainable Development is one of our top three priorities at Westminster, and through these events, we aim to promote waste reduction, reuse and material recycling through circular fashion. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals.
