Bike Week 2024 - Dr Bike maintenance session

Date 13 June 2024
Time 11am - 2pm
Location Cavendish Campus
Cost Free

To celebrate Bike Week 2024, UoW is organising a free Dr Bike session at our New Cavendish Campus on 13th June. The session is a great opportunity for students and colleagues who cycle to campus to get their bikes ‘serviced’ by an experienced mechanic.

Come to the outdoor area, just outside campus reception, with your bike for a quick check-up. Operation of gears, brakes, tyre pressure, and more can be assessed and fixed on the day if needed. For repairs that need additional work, the mechanics can provide detailed advice on what needs fixing and how much it should cost at the local bike shop.

Dr Bike sessions aim to promote sustainable travel to and from campus. Our aim is to promote active and sustainable living within London, as demonstrated by SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. By encouraging the use of bicycles as a safe and effective mode of travel to the university, we hope to reach our net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050. For more information, visit the UN Sustainable Development Goals webpage.

Please bring your bike to just outside the main entrance of our New Cavendish campus (what3words: ///breath.survey.draw) and expect roughly half an hour for the mechanic to assess your bike. One of the available mechanics can answer any questions on the day.
