About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Engineering. I hold a BA (Honours) degree in Business Administration and an MSc degree in Information Systems. I have over 20 years of experience in Higher Education with different roles spanning teaching, supervision, course management, and leadership. As well as teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, I am currently the Director of Employability for the School of Computer Science and Engineering.
I am an active member of the University Research Centre for Parallel Computing (CPC). My main research interests focus around the development, use and management of complex Information Systems. I am specifically interested in the application of Cloud Computing, Requirements Engineering, and Strategic Management of Information Systems. In CPC, I have worked on large scale EU research projects. Recent projects include CloudSME (Cloud-based Simulation Platform for Manufacturing and Engineering) project, CloudiFacturing (Cloudification of Production Engineering for Predictive Digital Manufacturing), and DIGITbrain (Digital twins bringing agility and innovation to manufacturing SMEs, by empowering a network of DIHs with an integrated digital platform that enables Manufacturing as a Service)
Teaching
I have over 20 years of experience in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. My teaching has focused on analysis, design, development and management of Information Systems. I have extensive experience in teaching modules related to the following areas:
- Requirements Modelling and Specification
- Systems Analysis and Design
- Strategic Management of Information Systems
- Rapid Application Development
- Database Systems
- Information modelling
- Information systems development methodologies
I am currently the module leader of the following modules:
- Requirements Modelling
- Strategic Management of Information Systems.
I supervise undergraduate projects and postgraduate thesis.
Research
My main research interests focus around the development, use and management of complex Information Systems. I am specifically interested in the application of Cloud Computing and High Performance Computing, Requirements Engineering and Strategic Planning for Information Systems.
