The announcement of Harry Style’s investment came after Daley’s catwalk collection was shown at Pitti Uomo in Italy on 11 January. The event brings together fashion minds to Florence each year, giving designers a platform to showcase their menswear clothing and accessories.

After graduating in June 2020 from Westminster’s Fashion Design BA course, Daley has put his name well and truly on the fashion map, being named as one of The Observer’s Faces to Watch in 2022, winning the prestigious BFC Foundation Award at the Fashion Awards 2022 and being awarded the prestigious Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) prize in 2022.

His partnership with Harry Styles started when the UK singer featured the Westminster alumnus’ graduate collection in his music video for his song Golden in 2020. The items worn by Styles included a pair of oversized, off-white, floral trousers and a billowing, slightly transparent, white shirt. His collection, The Inalienable Right, made use of deadstock and leftover tweed, chiffon and silk from Alexander McQueen’s material archive which was donated to the University

The collection, with key items including a wool tattersall check trench coat and a dressing gown made from 120 panels in three different silks, debuted at London Fashion Week. Since then, Steven has continued to work in an environmentally and sustainably conscious manner by using donated deadstock and end of roll fabrics.

Professor Andrew Groves, Professor of Fashion Design at Westminster, said: “Following an incredible show as guest designer at Pitti Uomo in Florence, it is great to hear that Steven has secured financial investment to allow the brand to grow further. It's especially significant that it comes from Harry Styles, who has been a big supporter of Steven and work, ever since he was still in his final year at Westminster in 2020.”
