About the speakers
Dain Son Robinson, Sustainability Consultant, Moorhouse Consulting (Biochemistry BSc, 2020)
Dain is a sustainability specialist with experience in the private and public sectors delivering environmental and social sustainability projects at a strategic, operational and grassroots level to support value-driven change within large organizations.
Her Sustainability journey began as a student at Westminster in 2018 after a lecture on Plant Conversation as part of the Biochemistry course. The lecture ignited a spark to take action against global sustainability issues which led her to start the university’s first student Environmental Society. Dain led the society for two years as President, running various campaigns and initiatives to increase sustainability within the university and to provide opportunities for fellow students.
This led her to her first sustainability role with Aramark Northern Europe as the business’ first Corporate Social Responsibility Ambassador working at an operational level to support sustainable catering management which led to national awards within the sector for best practice.
She then returned to the University of Westminster to drive even more positive change. Her main role was to embed the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals into the policies, strategies, and action plans of nearly all stakeholder groups and departments across all seniority levels within the organization to drive the cross-cutting development of sustainable practices. She also developed and managed several medium to long-term sustainability projects, working with national and international stakeholders to provide new opportunities for students that she had wished for when she was a student.
Dain is now with Moorhouse Consulting, a management consultancy, working with corporate clients to support them with setting Sustainability ambitions and then turning them into meaningful action. She also supports the firm's internal Sustainability and Responsible Business activities, focusing on their journey towards becoming B Corp accredited.
