Be the change you want to see! Join the Careers and Employability Service, on Wednesday 13 October 2021, from 12:30-2:30pm, for our Virtual Volunteering Fair!

This online event will give you the opportunity to meet and engage with a wide range of charities, community groups and social enterprises, offering a variety of volunteering and work experience opportunities. Don’t miss out: this is your chance to gain experience and make a difference.

Why should I volunteer?

We encourage all students to take advantage of every employability opportunity, including volunteering, enabling you to develop the Westminster Graduate Attributes.

By completing our Student Recognition form, you can also have your volunteering efforts formally recognised.

Poppy Burry-Jones, Student Volunteer of the Year 2020 - 21 said: “This was an amazing opportunity where I learned many personal and professional skills that i can proudly look back on for years to come.”

Will I have time?

You can volunteer for as little as 30 minutes a week. Most organisations will also allow you to choose your availability. In addition, there are many roles which can be done remotely online.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteering is flexible and is open to all, including international students, either on a long-term, short-term, or one-off basis.

Whilst volunteering undoubtedly makes a positive impact to society and the wider community, it also enhances your employability and boosts your mental health! As such, we encourage you to explore volunteering even as early as the start of your course!

To find out more, join our pre-event workshop “Why You Should Volunteer” on Tuesday 5  October 2021, from 1-2pm. Details of how to join will be shared on Engage closer to the date.

What will the Fair involve?

The Fair will be open for two hours and provide you with a chance to virtually meet with as many of the attending charities as you like.

Find out more and to book your place via Engage.

A timetable of all attending organisations will be available closer to the date.
