About the event
This lecture will explore the importance of building a stronger identity for research and innovation in public life.
We're excited to welcome Kim Shillinglaw, Chair of CaSE's new Discovery Decade project, who will share reflections on the public's relationship with science in the UK, and the urgency of forging a deeper and broader public connection to put research and innovation at the heart of the UK's future.
After the lecture, refreshments and an opportunity to continue the discussion with fellow attendees will be provided.
The lecture will be held in the University's Regent Street Cinema, but there is also the option to watch a live stream of the lecture if you are unable to attend in person.

About Kim Shillinglaw
Kim Shillinglaw has 30 years' worth of experience in the media industry, in which she has run commercial companies for EndemolShine, as Controller of BBC2 and BBC4, and as Head of Commissioning for Science and Natural History. As well as creating multi-award-winning content for shows such as Blue Planet II and Horrible Histories, Kim was architect of the BBC’s highly successful Year of Science and Make It Digital campaigns.
Kim's long-standing connection to science and innovation has included being a Trustee of NESTA and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and a Non-Exec Director at UKRI's Natural Environment Research Council. She also continues to sit on a wide range of media and entertainment Boards.
