A screening of Jean Genet's “most famous gay short in European History” as described by Tony Rayns which has evolved from a once-banned 1950 film into a potent metaphor about wider issues relating to the clash between desire and institutional authority. The event includes a gallery talk by Peter Herbert with artists linked to selected artwork on display in LOUDEST WHISPERS and a panel discussion led by Professor Pippa Catterall with experts linked to Genet and the theme of activism and social change.
