Background

I am a lecturer at the University of Westminster and the Disability Tutor for the School of Architecture and the Built Environment. I am also a professional consultant and active in business.

I am a building surveyor, an architect and have an MSc in Land Management. I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and of the Institute of Continuing Professional Development. I am also a regular contributor to the professional press, including RIBA Journal, Construction Manager, Building Sustainable Design and various other publications.

In addition, I am a member of the Court of Governors of the University, a Trustee and Joint Chair of GAD (Greenwich Association of Disabled People), a former Member of the Management Board of Hyde Housing Association and of the Hyde Group, and a past Examiner for the ISVA (Incorporated Society for Valuers and Auctioneers) and the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).

Teaching

I teach a range of topics including property development, space utilisation strategies and corporate culture, premises and construction law, and general construction technology related subjects in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Some of my non-teaching activities at the University of Westminster include:

Research

I am currently reading for a Doctorate in Education at the University of Greenwich.

Areas of research include: law, finance and the built environment; specialist construction related topics; disability, diversity and the built environment.
