Westminster Business School (WBS) has signed a new agreement to give students the opportunity to study one year of a professional Master’s course at L'Ecole Supérieure des Professions Immobilières (Groupe ESPI) in France, before completing a Real Estate Development MSc at Westminster, giving them a double degree.

On 24 November a delegation from WBS, led by the new Head of College and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christos Kalantaridis, and joined by Dr Karen Jackson, College Director of International Development, and Dr Gheorghe Multescu, Senior Lecturer in School of Applied Management, visited Groupe ESPI in Paris.

Groupe ESPI was created in 1972 with a focus on the real estate industry. After the opening of the Paris Campus, it established itself in Nantes in 2006, in Marseille in 2012, in Bordeaux in 2016, in Lyon and Montpellier at the start of the 2017 academic year, and in Lille and Montreal at the start of the 2022 academic year.

Westminster and ESPI share the same ambitions with respect to employability, with 97% of ESPI graduates employed at the end of their studies. To promote employability, each year the Groupe ESPI organises professional meetings between companies and its students.

During the visit, Westminster colleagues signed a new 1+1 agreement whereby students will initially study one year of an ESPI professional Master’s course before coming to Westminster to complete the Real Estate Development MSc course, giving students the opportunity to gain valuable insights and experiences as well as a double degree.

About the partnership, Régis Le Corre, Director of International Relations at ESPI, said: "A trusted partner such as the University of Westminster, who knows our learners, our students, our teachers, our programs, our needs and our ambitions is extremely valuable. It is a relationship that has been constantly strengthened and these are the ingredients that have made it possible to sign an agreement which allows our Master's students to benefit from a double degree at the University of Westminster. It is an honour that augurs well for further developments."

Professor Kalantaridis added: “This new agreement brings together two institutions specialising in educating real estate professionals to offer a 1+1 double degree. This arrangement is the first of its kind for the real estate team at Westminster.”
