We are seeking 90 student volunteers to test out UniVRse, a new Virtual Reality programme aimed at enhancing the confidence and wellbeing of University students.

UniVRse is a Virtual Reality (VR) programme designed to help students feel more confident at university.

The research team leading on the project is looking for students to try out the tool and be part of this pioneering work.

The programme, funded by the Office for Students, was informed by students’ feedback about their university experiences, and combines cutting-edge technology with cognitive behavioural techniques.

Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated simulation of real-world environments. These simulations are viewed using special equipment like a pair of goggles. VR is already being used to deliver therapy for a variety of mental health problems and has been shown to be effective.

Student participants will take part in a pilot in which they will be asked to complete an assessment before and after trying out the UniVRse programme. Their answers will help assess the effect of UniVRse on social anxiety, confidence, engagement and enjoyment of university experience as well as other mental health outcomes.

For questions on the project, or if you’d like to take part in the trial, please email [email protected].
