Between 16–24 June we'll be celebrating the reopening of the Soho Poly, a community-focussed arts venue in the heart of London.

About the event

This celebration takes the form of a mixture of community-focussed and free public events, including school workshops, play readings, gigs, exhibitions and open house days all designed to give a flavour of what the new space will offer. Many of these events will be open to the public, as shown in the programme below.

Programme

Friday 16 June

  • 1–2pm: Lunchtime reading of Soho Poly classic play, Jackie Kay's Chiaroscuro (1986) (public event)
  • 7.30–9.30pm: Evening gig by the wonderful David Callahan (public event)

Monday 19 June

  • 1–4pm: Badge Cafe take over with a badge making workshop (public event)

Tuesday 20 June

  • 10am–1pm: Badge Cafe community workshop
  • 2–5pm: Open House, TBC (public event)

Wednesday 21 June

  • 1–4pm: Badge Cafe community workshop
  • 5–8pm: Badge Cafe party (public event)

Throughout the day, you can also take part in the Disrupt Your Everyday business challenge to bring art and creativity into your ordinary working day. See the video below for more information, or sign up your business via the online form.

Thursday 22 June

  • 10am–1pm: Schools workshop
  • 1–4pm: Free public badge making workshop 

Friday 23 June

  • 1–4pm: Community Creative Writing workshop 

Saturday 24 June

  • 3–5pm: Concert by Bennett Valuks and Ashaine White
  • 7–9pm: Concert by Awale Jant Band and The Labourers
