Pre-recorded workshop available from Wednesday 12 June for one week.

The end of the academic year can stir up challenging feelings. Uncertainty about what lies ahead can quickly escalate into unhelpful thinking and cycles of worry that are hard to break out of. In periods of uncertainty, we may stick to familiar situations to feel safe. But avoiding new experiences can further reduce our confidence, keeping us stuck.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) has techniques to build a tolerance to uncertainty. This workshop will explore:

  • Intolerance of uncertainty and anxiety
  • Using the ‘five areas’ model to untangle unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour
  • Practical strategies to cope with uncertainty.
