Whether you're looking for your first graduate role, a part-time job to fit around your studies, applying for a postgraduate course or just plain confused about what you want to do in the future, we are here to help.

Our dedicated Careers Consultants can give you 1-2-1 advice and help you make the most of the opportunities and support services available across the University. Appointments can take place in person or online via Teams.

Short Careers Consultations

These advice sessions give you the opportunity to obtain feedback and advice on CVs, application forms, interviews and other career concerns.

Appointments can be made up to a week before you wish to attend, and last for 20 minutes. If it is an in-person appointment, please arrive 10 minutes before your start time and bring printed copies of your CV or other documents you'd like advice on. If it is online via Teams, please make sure that you are online in time for the appointment.

To book a short consultation – go to Engage and book yourself in for an available slot.

Long Careers Consultations

These appointments are 45 minutes long and provide in-depth careers advice.

We ask that you attend a quick query session before booking a long consultation. We are happy for you to attend up to four long consultations per year (four in any 365-day period).

You can book your appointment via Engage. (Note: Undergraduate students are required to attend a short consultation before they can book long consultations. Graduates and postgraduate students can book a long consultation without the need to book a short consultation first.)

Appointments can be made up to three weeks before you wish to attend, and last for 45 minutes. If it is an in-person appointment, please arrive 10 minutes before your start time and bring printed copies of your CV or other documents you'd like advice on.  If it is online via Teams, please make sure that you are online in time for the appointment.
